WINTER SEASON

The Winter season is held from May to July at different venues throughout the Adelaide metro region and SA country areas, hosted by the local Little Athletics centres.

The season concludes with the State Cross Country Championship for Under 9 to Under 17 athletes. Medals are presented to the top 3 placegetters.

All those aged 3 to 17 are welcome to attend. If not a registered athlete, you are able to attend as a Come'n'Try.

HLAC Cross Country Awards
Hills LAC has a merit award system for the Cross Country season. It is based on attendance and performance with medals presented to athletes in the new Summer season - Gold, Silver, Bronze and an attendance medal.

How many points needed to achieve a medal?
Gold = 150 points
Silver = 100 points
Bronze = 75 points
Attendance Medal = 40 points

Athletes must attend at least 4 meets in the season to qualify for a Hills LAC medals.

How Does My Little Athlete Earn Points?

10 points - Awarded each time the athlete competes in any of the events on the LASA Cross Country Program
PLUS

10 points - First placing
8 points - Second placing
6 points - Third placing
5 points - Fourth placing
4 points - Fifth placing
3 points – Sixth placing
2 points – Seventh placing
1 point – Eighth placing
PLUS

Double the points collected at the HLAC meet (if hosted) and/or the end of season Championship meet.
